Pineapple Connect LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company operating as NarrateNow (“we”, “our”, or “us”), operates the NarrateNow service, which converts web pages into audio. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our service.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and payment information. Payment information is processed by our payment provider (Stripe) and is not stored on our servers.

Website Data

When you install the NarrateNow script on your website, our service accesses the text content of your pages to generate audio. We store the text content temporarily during processing and retain the generated audio files for caching and playback.

Usage Data

We collect anonymous usage data including the number of audio plays, pages processed, and characters converted. This data is used for billing, service improvement, and to provide you with usage analytics.

Visitor Data

When a visitor on your website uses the NarrateNow player, we do not collect personally identifiable information about that visitor. When a visitor plays audio, we record anonymous listening analytics: which page was played, how long it was listened to, the length of the audio, and whether it was played to the end. To group plays from the same browser tab, the player keeps a random identifier in the browser’s session storage; it contains no information about the visitor and is discarded when the tab is closed. We do not record visitor IP addresses alongside this data. We use it to show you how your audio is being listened to, and we do not use visitor data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than delivering and improving the playback service.

2. How Audio Is Generated

Page content is sent to our text-to-speech processing pipeline, which may use third-party AI services to generate audio. The text is sent securely and is used solely for the purpose of audio generation. We do not use your page content to train AI models or for any purpose other than generating the requested audio.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the NarrateNow service
  • To process payments and manage your subscription
  • To generate and deliver audio versions of your pages
  • To send you service-related communications (billing receipts, usage alerts, service updates)
  • To monitor and prevent abuse of the service

4. Subprocessors and Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers listed below that are necessary to operate NarrateNow:

  • Stripe — payment processing. Stripe stores and processes payment card data on our behalf.
  • Cloud infrastructure provider — audio file hosting and delivery. Generated audio files are stored on servers located in the United States.
  • Text-to-speech AI provider — audio generation from page content. Page content is transmitted securely and used solely for generating the requested audio.

Institutional customers may request our current subprocessor list at any time by contacting [email protected]. We will provide at least 30 days’ advance notice to institutional customers before adding or replacing any subprocessor that has access to personal data.

5. Data Location

All customer data, including account information and generated audio files, is stored and processed in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US. We implement contractual protections with our subprocessors to safeguard data during transfer and processing. 6. Data Retention

Generated audio files are retained as long as your account is active. Page content used for generation is stored temporarily during processing and may be cached for regeneration purposes. When you delete your account, we delete your audio files and account data within 30 days. Listening analytics are kept for as long as the site they belong to is connected to your account, and are deleted as soon as you remove that site or delete your account. Upon request, we will confirm in writing that deletion has been completed.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to customer data is restricted to authorized personnel only. In the event of a confirmed personal data breach, we will notify affected institutional customers within 72 hours of discovery, with a full incident report to follow as soon as practicable.

8. Children’s Privacy

NarrateNow is a business-to-business service and is not directed at children or minors. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information directly from minors. The NarrateNow embedded player collects only anonymous, aggregate analytics (such as play counts and listening duration) and does not collect personally identifiable information about website visitors of any age. Customers who deploy NarrateNow on websites accessible to minors are responsible for ensuring they have obtained all required consents and are compliant with applicable laws in their jurisdiction governing the privacy of minors.

9. Your Rights

You may request to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Export your data in a portable format

10. Institutional Customers & Data Processing Agreements

For organizations that require enhanced data protection commitments — such as educational institutions, government bodies, or enterprises — we will execute a Data Processing Agreement (“DPA”) upon request. The DPA specifies our security measures, breach notification obligations, audit rights, subprocessor controls, and data deletion timelines in detail. 11. Cookies

The NarrateNow dashboard uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. The embedded player on your website does not use cookies for tracking purposes.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the NarrateNow dashboard. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
